Meet The therapist

My name is Tammy Charlton. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, although I didn't start in social work. My journey started as a student nurse. While in nursing school, I quickly realized that I was meant to help people heal in a different way. I changed my major to social work and graduated with honors from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. I then completed the advanced standing social work graduate program at University of Memphis and graduated with a Master of Social Work.

Experience

Having studied and worked in mental health for the past twelve years, I understand the impact that negative or traumatic experiences can have on life. The way we view ourselves and the world around us is often changed and sometimes we can end up feeling like we're stuck, walking in a dark cloud or unable to lift off a weighted blanket. We can also often begin to feel unsafe in relationships or alone. I've been trained in various therapeutic modalities, including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy, that can help you heal and move forward.

Services

Being invested in your healing, I will help you process your negative life experiences, challenge the way you now see yourself and the world, and give you tools to develop positive coping skills to manage your emotions, anxiety, and depression. I provide psychotherapy for $155.00 per 50 minute session to help you accomplish your mental health goals. If you're an adult within the states of Tennessee or Arkansas, call or text me at 901-290-6153 for a free 15 minute consultation.
